Ok. I drewl with anticipation over Em's new album. Supposedly its got so much dirt on Mariah ( <3 ) that shes trying to sue him for slander. Dr. Dre should be finishing Detox as well. 50 has a new album coming... so the hip hop drought should be coming to an end with the downpour coming from Aftermath.

Okay this is my opinion. GOOD Hip-Hop is dead. Hip-Hop is still flowin mostly main stream which sucks. Only singles like some that you mentioned. the one by Mims which I personally thought sucked. Every now and them some good songs come by, but it's just main stream its lasts a couple of weeks then its dead. Old school is still number one. I especially like when Rap & R&B is mixed. I hope that old school artists release new hits and I hope it ain't main stream.

@SD no offense if you like 50 it's all you, but I would not expect too much from his new album Curtis or w\e he named it this time. From Em and Dre you can expect the best, I am just hoping they don't let us down. Dre's album has been a long time coming.

50 is ok. I haven't really liked one of his albums since the first one but it never hurts to have hope.

True, I only like if a lot one or two songs by him. The rest isn't all that. Like you said his first album was the best the last one forgot what it was called wasn't all that 2 songs that were main stream and one that was good. Ehh. I am hoping he brings it together.

No, little tyke, this is what we big people call an "ironic joke," playing off the fact that this exact thread, worded in the same way, has already been made, yet the person decided to create another. So, in what is called "humor," sound it out, "heu-moor," I posted my quote from said similar thread. In other words, "You-are-an-uptight-prick-with-no-sense-of-humor-or-irony-and-a-pathetic-grasp-of-the-English-language-that -should-shut-up-now-while-he-is-ahead."

P.S.- I know, SD, I just "be hatin'" pop and gospel too, "itz mad crunk bad, yo."

No fool my english aint perfect, deal with it. Better make a new one then necro an old one.

And about 50, I think his album gonna flopp just like the rest of G-Unit, except Buck, hes the only one still holdin it down in G-Unit.
Yayo failed, Banks failed 2x times, Olivia failed to even get an album out, Mobb Deep's album didn't sell shit, MOP, Mase, Young Hotrod have not put out a record yet, its like most of the fools just living on 50 and Bucks sucess.

But still I don't like 50, I haven't been bumping his shit since Power Of The Dollar. Doubt Curtis will change that.

T.I and Three 6 Mafia droppin their new albums early next month, looking forward for those

Yeah, Iam Also looking forward to a new album from T.I.
his 'king' album was great, compared to other artist's like Mims..really hate that guy ^^ but yeah..I don't really think that 50 is going to put out a real hiphop album..maybe Em will save the day..he's probaly got alot to say since his homeboy proof died..I also heard that proof was comin out with a new record? not he 'searching for Jerry Garcia' but a completely new one, he apparently have some songs left in the studio..like Pac ^^ even though, pacs "new Songs" are just old ones, that have been remixed and such...

I'm not loving that much mainstream stuff either these days. Everyone seems to be losing steam; Nas is nowhere near his early stuff, and Luda's new album, in my opinion... it didn't really stand up either. The last mainstream rap CD I really enjoyed would prolly have to be King. Well, Lupe Fiasco's Food and Liqueor too, if you consider him really mainstream.

There's still some pretty good indie stuff, though. Gym Class Heroes are still pretty beastly, but the radio has been kinda fucking them over; the only songs of theirs that are ever played are those gay little FallOutBoy cooperations.

One person I've been listening to these days is Plan B. It's interesting; hardcore raps over acoustic guitar... from a white guy. Worth a listen.

Hip-Hop is not dead, but the art of the MC is. There are still b-boys out there (those who follow a specific form of dance created from the cultures music are considered b-boys IMO), and visual art inspired by the music is still around.

Rap is considered Pop now along with some of that emo stuff. With songs like "Party like a Rock Star", "This is why im Hot", and so on and so forth polluting the airways, as great artist like Lupe (best Hip-Hop/Rap album of last year), LB (The Minstrel Show and The Listening are great albums), and Pharoahe Monch (new album drops soon lol) are ignored by the masses. The musical triad MVB is prospering.

ok......enough of that....on to some of the artist.

50 cent............garbage. Sure, he keeps the tradition of battling in the game, but making a career on battling while sporting average skills is ridiculous! Not to mention the idea of battling now has become a popularity contest, ever since LL beat out Canibus is their famous duel.

T.I......ok he's nice. Luda.....nice......Outkast.....greatness (the new single with UGK is amazing). Em....always been nice, Game.....nice (his last cd was nice....and i think he's better than 50), Asheru(the brilliant mind behind most of the music featured in "The Boondocks")....greatness.

so yeah thats what i think.....

oh and to make such a judgement like "everyone who likes hip-hop thinks they are gangsters...." is such an ignorant statement, and if you are adamant on that belief i feel sorry for you. Just goes to show national separation on another level eh?
