^ Common seems to be starting to get the respect he deserves. I like that.

Rhymefest intrigues me too. I've only heard a couple of the cuts off of BLue Collar, but they were interesting. Is he worth delving further into?

What about Canibus? I don't think I ever saw him on t.v. at all. Whoever posted that LL beat him is stupid.

Reading this thread just reminds me of something I heard in a hip-hop song....

'Hip Hop is inna state of 911' -Eminem.

I used to listen to some of it a few years ago. Back when I listened to the radio.

LL beat him silly. Sure Canibus fucked him up in Second Round K.O, but thats it. LL was already big back then, and he fucked canibus up in other songs after that, apparently you haven't heard them. Canibus couldn't match up with that.

Haha, Silly? Hmm... maybe you're right. I said that for the simple fact that all the articles I read say that Canibus won. LL's response to Second Round K.O. was simply the funniest diss song I've ever heard (Can I bus? Yes you can!) but other than that, I really didn't hear em all. I thought LL sucked plus he swore he was the best. The reason I believe Canibus won is cause I think he's much better.

Oh he is. But with LL's reputation/money/power/fanbase/etc etc, theres no way in hell hes letting a no body fuck him up.

Sorry, I think you were talking about poetry there. You mean the word and the beat?

But seriously... Hip hop has never been my thing, but even I see the deterioration of the lyrics and the uniformity of the music. Where did the soul of experimentation go? R.I.P. Rage Against the Machine

If you like Rage Against the Machine, you will love "The Roots"
They, like Rage Against the Machine, experiment with various instruments, and mix the genre hiphop/jazz/Rock..
