I can't listen to music and read manga at the same time. It tends to distract me the music lol.
But on the occasions I do it's mostly old school rap.
Its been awhile since I've read Gantz, and only 5 new chapters are out... but hey better than nothing.
During those 5 chapters, I've listened to Royksopp - Circuit Breaker while eating ice cold watermelons.
Fast-paced, technoish, groovy, succulent, and nIceeee...
i like the funny relaxed mangas like beauty pop and ouran high school and for both i usaully liste to pop music from shades apart and 3 doors down
Same as Loca93, can't focus on the manga..If I start listen to music with fast beats I'll get distracted and start singin along, next thing I know, I've read the entire thing and don't know what the hell happende in the ch. >_<
Hmmm....that never happens to me. If I'm reading more than 1 chap of a manga, I usually put the music on and start reading. Just gotten used to it.
I'm currently reading Disgaea 2 while listening to Ignore by Riyu Kosaka and occasionally switching to a random bgms from Nanoha StrikerS ^_^
Well, if you feel a little fruity, my friend told me about a group called Coheed and Cambria. Supposed to be a collection of concept albums that tell a fantasy story, that go along with a comic book they made(i.e. you listen to a certain song at a certain page).
Course, the guy sounds girlier than a girl. I swear, my friend had me listen to it, couldn't listen to more than 30 seconds before I had to quit. It was just soo...homo(to those that are homosexual, that is not an insult, but you know what I mean).
I actually like Coheed.
Admittedly, the whole idea of the band... is pretty gay. I don't really appreciate sci-fi fantasy fanboying in any genre, and seeing it spread to music is pretty disappointing. And yeah, Claudio Sanchez has the most womanly voice in the world.
But the music itself is actually very good. Each one of the members is an excellent musician, and I appreciate their music especially as a guitarist myself. They're very good songwriters, too; the theme, and his vocals, really are a shame. Like you've seen, they quiiiiiiiite often turn people away from a band that's actually pretty good, once you give them a chance.
