I say hip-hop is not dead...yet. But Im starting to see "the light at the end of tunnel". Check out the "Weird Coast" (term Im calling the new/upcoming MCs from the West Coast) rappers like Odd Future crew and Lil B. They are a breath of fresh air in a mostly watered-down stuff coming from Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, & Wacka Flacka Flame (which I all hate)
