If the beats good yeh, I listen to Hip-hop/rap but then I get tired of listening to it maybe after 1 or 2 days which just gives me an impression that Hip-Hop is dying. Most of the time they talk all crap you know. Bitches, hoes, ice, bling, money gettin rich......all that crap

But I really like old school rap, some Dre, Snoop, definitely Tupac. Rap battles are also good, when you see some guy dissin' somebody in a rap battle man you feel IT!!!

Some good rappers better arise from the ashes of Hip-hop today.....

Meh. You'd have to be somewhat of a fool or just plain ignorant to believe Hip Hop is dead. The genre is no different than any other filled with its fair share of garbage flavor of the week lames and worthwhile talent hiding in the trenches. So long as you exercise your right to filter out what is and isn't tolerable you'll live. Until fans start buying more records and open themselves up to marketable emcees with actual talent the rest of us are stuck well wishing in the current landscape.
In order to 'acknowledge' the 'irony' I would have to learn two new words today.

    ...

...And I'm not going to do that.

no hip hop is not dead but it is missing the ideals that it began from. At it's roots it was self expression for the poor man who had no instruments. People began to premote toughness then pac came and showed every one what life was really like in the hood but he did so without glorifying it as the right way to live. I think real rap is, or should be more like the group Blue Scholars. There stuff is really political and really deep. I find their stuff outclasses mos-def and talib kwali and everyone else because of their clear rhymes and their good beats which is extremely rare nowadays. You usually hear either one or the other and just have to settle.

Then again, being somewhat of an otaku, J-music in general rocks. So many good singers and songs. I never listen to american rock. J-Rock all the way!!!

Face it, guys. No rap song has been good since:
    YouTube - RUN-DMC - It's Tricky

And no rap song will be. Rap reached its epitome with this.
