"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented, fabulous?"
Actually, who are you not to be?

I like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

I don't get why some ppl listen to j pop/rock when they don't know Jap ... it is like reading a raw-manga, you see the nice drawings, but you don't know anything else :S
It is hard to find 'good' mainstream music these days =(
Gangster rap is just really crap.
But guys like Common and A Tribe Called Quest, they can still be called Hip-Hop.
That's what translation sites are for. I don't need to know the lyrics to know that I like a singer's voice, or that the melody or arrangement of a song is well-composed or sounds nice. I love J-pop because most songs don't sound similar, for instance. ^_^
*will admit she's a bit of an otaku when it comes to music and it's an awful thing, don't be like me. Don't spend all your money on different copies of the same AAA single, no matter how cute Nissy may be...*

So you read manga for it's art not for its story? You are basically taking away the song's meaning if you don't know what it is about. It is like you like the beat of some gangster rap, but it talks about rape, woman abuse, getting richer, etc. are you still going to listen to it? I know I won't.
But everyone has their own taste, so I won't argue~ (especially arts)
...Sometimes I do read a manga for its art. Mostly I read it for the story, but there have been occasions. Anyway, I look up the translations for most songs that I like - to see what they mean. And if I don't? Does that mean I can't appreciate the music of a song?
