    Default Saxophoney Trumpety Music?

I'm looking for Cowboy Bebop's Tank (intro) style music but I have no clue where to start. What kind of genre is it? What bands play this kind of music? Any recommendations?

Jazz specifically Bebop, hence Cowboy Bebop. The Blues genre also contains what your looking for.

    Try either:

    Herbie Hancock: Classic Jazz

    George Benson: Modern Jazz

    Nujabes: Hip-Hop infused Jazz

Dave Matthews Band: Indie / Jazz hybrid

While they aren't exactly recommendations those artists define each sub genre very well, try them so you know exactly what you want.

    Wow.
You don't know what Jazz is? Being a Jazz musician myself, I should shoot you.

In any case, you should check out the Brecker Brothers or Weather Report if you want to hear some nice jazz.

The band who plays Tank! is called the Seatbelts.
    And here's the actual song.

The ending song to CB is pretty damn good to. The Real Folk Blues. go check it out.

I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

Or anything by Tsuneo Imahori or Tipographica if you want Jazz with Japanese flair.

Ornette Coleman, Gary Thomas, and Stone Alliance are very upbeat as well.
