ska in its pure form is annoying :)
but i like skapunk a lot if there's over 50& punk in it...
(i count streetlight as skapunk...)
if anyone's interested, theres a very good skapunk band from my region, totally unknown but incredible good, so i'll have to ad a bit around...
// edit: damn -.- okay it was advertising i see why i cant post the link ^^ - LATER! MUAHAHAHAAA -.~"
Ehhhhh, but those are quiiiiiite a few of their songs. Most of them, other than Santeria and What I Got and a few others. But they've got the ska guitar parts, and they've got horns on a few songs too... give Date Rape another listen, then try and say they aren't ska.

a thread about ska and i couldnt even see Madness mentionned, wow.
i like some ska, not loads but more the punk side of it. there's one great band around at the moment called Sonic Boom Six, awesome band. Also The Planet Smashers, RX Bandits, etc
the lead singer of rancid has a downloadable cd out or coming out soon in whitch he sings ska and the songs on his my space are actuallly pretty good last time i checked on there myspace was more info about it but im not shure if its there any more but i recomend checking it out anyways
Oh my, I forgot this thread was still around..
Sublime never had a brass lineup, that was just stuff they added in. Have you ever heard Date Rape live? No horns.

Eh. Reggae is technically an offshoot of ska, but... I don't feel like arguing over it.
I'm seeing Mad Caddies with Pepper on March 2nd. It's gonna be pretty fucking insane.
I haven't heard enough of it.
But I do like I Voted For Kodos, RX Bandits, Streetlight Manifesto, Suicide Machines, and what I have heard of Hepcat and the Toasters. I feel like I am forgetting some...oh well...I'm not too big on it anyway.
EDIT: I forgot Mighty Mighty Bosstones.
If you like RX, you should listen to The Sound Of Animals Fighting.
They are a progressive post-hardcore band. But Matt Embree does some vocals for them. He is amazing.
Oh, also..fans of RX should look into "superband". It was an alias for the band that consisted of all members of Finch and RXB. They played covers of old songs. Including some Nirvana and The Police.
I'm seeing them on the 28th April, together with some other bands on the Groezrock festival. Can't wait. =D

I might go to Warped Tour this year, there look to be some good bands there. Pepper I know, and I believe a few more skatastic bandies too.
