Ayu was a J-pop queen. I'd like to see which sells more - Secret or Black Cherry. =P (Note that Kuu had an album named secret YEARS before Ayu. xD Then people joke about BoA's new album being named that and yeah.)

Hamasaki probably is... but I would vote for Tomiko Van since she's my favourite female pop vocalist. xDD

Uhm...BoA is a Korean gassoo that made it big in Japan. Her home label in Korea is SM Town.
utada of course, ayumi has a lot of hits because she releases singles and albums like water, practically every month or so, but whenever utada releases hers, it always shoots to the top and sits comfortably at number 1 for a long time until ayumi barrages it with tons of new work, so quality>>quantity
And she's signed by avex - don't know how that relates to SM Town (owner, maybe?). She still sings J-pop, even if she is Korean, and she's fairly big in Japan.Quote:
