Thread: Who is the true Queen of J-pop?

Koda kumi is the best.hooray for koda kumi

I am ashamed to say that I have not yet heard anything by Gorie or Koda Kumi. All of the others, I like. I'm going to have to go with Utada, though. She was the first J-pop artist I listened to, and I just love her work. Ayumi is usually good, but some of her songs just irritate me. BoA is my runner-up, since I love the vocals, but haven't heard as much of her work as Utada's.

Well, Gorie is kind of a joke. =P Go listen to Koda Kumi NOW! ^_^

Utada Hikaru is sooo much better than Ayu. I look forward to Utada more than Hamasaki, and that I've heard more bad Hamasaki songs than Utada... Well, I prefer listening to the Ultra Blue album over most, if not all, of Hamasaki's songs.

This isn't a thread for your favourite artist, this is a thread for the Queen of J-pop - which does include fame. Namie has been around for decades, Ayu is the current title holder, Hikki is just really famous, BoA is the best-known foreigner, and Koda Kumi is currently topping the charts and selling more than Ayu. Gorie is just a queen. xD

i think ayumi hamasaki is. she's been around for so long and she is still doing soo good. ^_^

oh well, it's kinda obvious. looking at my username. but i'm being objective here. Namie had been slippng since she got married, while hikki's music is great, but she don't have that X-Factor of a queen. kuu chan on the other hand, had been getting more and more popular since FF, but that image might be a crash to her in the future.
ayu, has been starting so many fashion threads and statement, ayu had been breaking a lot of records since her music debut, ayu had been inspiring a lot of people with her music. therefore, i choose ayu.

i have ayu's latest song, JEWEL.
that is a VERY beautiful ballad, it the best song ayu had since this year. her 06 songs aren't that great.

You should try kuu's Best~First Things album. i had the album in my site too. all jpop stuff can be found in the second page of my site.
