his music is phenominal. i listen to him from time to time when i need to relax or something. i'm not sure if it was him, but was he the one to first write "house of the rising sun"? i have the "Animals" version cause i like the organs in the song.
after countless statements such as these, i decided to check out freewheelin' bob dylan....and i HATE his voice so terribly, i couldn't even listen to a full song. but the instrumentals were lovely...
since i only gave it a cursory listen i'll be sure to try again, but i don't know if i'll be able to get past the vocals. and trust me, i listen to a bunch of vocalists that would make some people cringe, but only if IIII can tolerate it. i'm actually quite picky about vocals.

Actually "House of the Rising Sun" was an American folk song but yes, Bob Dylan did cover it before the Animals. However, one song that Bob Dylan did write but is often not givin credit for due to Hendrix's more popular cover was "All Along the Watchtower."Originally Posted by swat

Ah yes, Hendrix cover of All Along The Watchtower is great, too bad dylan just get small credit for the song (although, i like hendrix version better ^_-)
