Red Hot Chili Peppers were really good, except snoop dogg opened for them. Cake was really good, except three fairly shitty bands opened for them. Also, Avenged Sevenfold, Atreyu, Maroon 5, The Offspring, mxpx, Good Charlotte, Dropkick Murphys, the transplants, newfound glory, though all of those were crammed into two all-day festival things.
O_O...you saw all that concerts???...WOW that's really ASWOME >_<!!!
the first and last show i saw was a finch show back in august of 2004. they were pretty good live, considering. there were supposed to be three bands opening for them, but somehow only two managed to be there, some unsigned band, first aid kit and a band i like to this day, recover. no one seemed to like first aid kit, but i liked them fairly well. i think everyone (and when i say everyone, i mean about 400 people--it was a small venue) was on edge waiting for finch. people responded well to recover, who also put on a good show. unfortunately, they played their old stuff (unfortunately for me, as i actually prefer their newer stuff to older, it is more refined).
technically, i could say my first show was a guster show in a plaza downtown earlier that same summer....but it was free. it's funny, i won tickets through a radio station to go to a free show! it said we had first class seats, but we were separate from the stage entirely, in a little section where it was actually much harder to see the band perform than directly in front of the stage. at the time, i wasn't really into guster (i like them much better now), but they played well, doing a lot of improv too.
