Thread: underoath

everyone should flock to this thread and commence an underoath lovefest

fave songs? albums? which do you prefer, old or new?

i prefer old underoath personally...back when they were a metalcore band with heavy death and black metal influence (the albums cries of the past <-fave and an act of depression)

their new stuff turns me off (they're only chasing safety). i think they shouldn't even retain the same name as the band shifted genre completely and lost almost all of the original band members. the changing of the times was still metalcore, but severely lacking. if these are the only two albums you've heard, i suggest you try and find an act of depression and cries of the past unless you're averse to heavier music. btw they're out of print and you'll have to sell your organs to amazon to buy them, so you're better off downloading them.

i know rubberluffy doesn't like old underoath, so he is dumb and therefore sucks. :P

Plus, they're boring in concert, and were completely overshadowed by who they played with when I saw them (Coheed & Cambria, 3), and that was back in '04. I can't imagine earlier them being any better. At least TOCS is a catchy album, if nothing else.

cries of the past was released in 2000....

even tcott was in 2002 (where they'd lost some members and clearly changed direction)

so yeah, the lackingness of the live show applies not at all to the old stuff

anyone who has heard dallas taylor knows he's an awesome vokillist

even though you don't like that genre, you should at least hear something
