Thread: Asian films vs American remakes

Okay, have anyone watched an Asian film and then see the American remake of it much later? Impressions on both? Idk, I feel like Asians are mad good at it and then I don't know how the freak Americans mess up. Like, American films are made for dummies or something.

I saw The Tale of Two Sisters (Korean) and The Uninvited (American version) as well as Shutter (Thai) and Shutter (American version). I actually ended up laughing the whole time during all the "scary" parts in the American version of shutter cause I thought it was so ridiculously bad.

I hated Ringu because it was so silly, the american movie The Ring is so much better and so much more scary, the Japanese original was just retarded.

A saw a tale of two sisters and enjoyed it. I didn't know there was an american version...

I thought the infernal affairs movies were better than the departed, but the departed was really good too. Someone seeing the departed first might like it more than the asian counterpart tho...

TBH I don't watch that many Asian movies, I don't often get a chance to. I'm also kinda put of by the over abundance of horror movies and gore fest martial arts movies.

I wonder why American movie must have kissing scene in them. Even in an action-packed or game adaptation movie.

I thought The Departed (remake of Infernal Affairs) was pretty good different but good

THE SASSY GIRL remake by american.. I love this movie when korean version.. Its so amazing love story of couple.. love it!!!
