I'm frustrated that the synaesthesia is an ability at all - one that can be transferred and that... apparently can destroy walls. Ugh. It was kind of cool to see a "real-life" ability until this happened, and now it looks like we're going to get obnoxious Peter romance or something.

NO, NOT NATHAN, COME BACK NATHAN

...and why did Sylar have to join the circus so fast? I kind of liked his innocent character.

Meh episode. Lot of things happened that I didn't like, but it wasn't a HORRIBLE episode. Just not the greatest. Just like most shows this season.

^Exactly, I wanted it to just stay a cool ol' pleasant sort of power, I'm always thinking "how come every power in Heroes has got to have a combative use"? Why can't they just have a few nice powers, something people could have in real life without fear of accidentally blowing someone up or something? But I'm actually supportive of this Peter-Emma thing. I never cared much for Peter's previous girlfriends (Simone, meh, Caitlin, meh) 'cause they always seemed a bit...not equal to him. Now he's got someone with powers too and who's not immediately drawn to him like flies or something.

Looking back at it it wasn't too great an episode (even if it did go faster than last week's, which was nice 'cause it had character development) but it wasn't a bad episode too. It's a rather constant pace of decent episodes. It hasn't been degenerating like it did in the past season. But it's been a long, long time since I've had an episode I could watch twice. Season 1, I kept watching and rewatching Five Years Gone and How To Stop An Exploding Man or even Seven Minutes to Midnight but now if I watch any again I skip past a lot.

You know, I was thinking that maybe it needs a fresh cast. In Season 1 it was really interesting at first because we were all wondering who had what powers, what can Peter really do, who's Claire's suspicious dad, what the heck can Sylar do and what does he do with the brains, things like that. And everyone was really connected in some way and all. But now we know the cast well and there's no mystery with them anymore, and they're running out of things for them to do. The carnies are new and interesting but who knows how long they'll be around. Maybe Heroes should just start with a fresh slate and get a whole new cast.

Sorry for the double post, but I wanted to comment on the latest episode.

I thought it was quite good, personally. There was almost nothing that turned me off of it. It's as though the theme this week was helping others. Hiro helping Emma, Noah helping the healer guy Jeremy, Samuel helping Sylar (but maybe that doesn't count; it's more like manipulating). It's nice to see Noah doing something nice, helping others, trying to make up for not doing it right last time. And even though I'm still wondering what happened to the whole "start a new Company" plan (though now I think they shouldn't do that, it'd just add to much to the storyline), at least Noah's doing something Company-like.

Hiro helping Emma was actually really pleasant, and even though Hiro's still a little childish it's in a fun, almost wise way. I hated Hiro being spoiled and grouchy last season when Ando got powers and now it's nice to see him being...Hiro again. Just like last time. The magic trick part was fun - seeing that nurse's jaw drop open was hilarious. And finally, Hiro remembered Charlie.

Sylar's story was actually a bit less interesting though I did like seeing the carnival. The carnival seems like a pretty convenient way for the writers to pull our new people with whatever powers they need to use for the show. Hmm. I'm very nearly getting tired of Sylar because it almost looks like he's going down that redeeming-himself path again. Although blank Sylar is kind of convincing he can't possibly stay that way forever. Plus I wasn't entirely convinced how Samuel managed to get him to go after Lubbock. Hmm.

But I think this episode was great because there was no Claire in it. But I think Matt will be back next week and Claire too.

Oh damn, just found out that the Hiro-Charlie episode isn't next week, it's the week after...NOO.

i think that this season has been better than the previous seasons though i'm disappointed in a couple of things. one thing is matt parkman not dying, i thought it would be an awesome twist that matt did sacrifice himself in order to kill sylar. sylar not dying at all even though his memory was completely wiped, how did he even survive that, i thought he would have reverted back to when he was lost and confused. hiro's plot hole extravaganza with charlie and among other plot points like stopping mohinder from ever going to the carnival or going back in time to save charlie before she was taken away. but overall i feel this is better than the previous season 'cept the first.

I wanted Parkman to die too, it would've been a heroic send-off. But we all knew they weren't going to kill Sylar, so...but anyway, I think they should finish off Parkman this season. I mean, his life is messed up. He's likely a wanted man in most states by now and I don't see how he can just go back to his normal life. But I'm disappointed that they didn't tell us more about Matt Jr., with his abilities he should be kinda important...in some way.

Actually I think with Hiro's storyline there are less plot holes. In fact I think if he had the chance he should've brought Charlie to the future anyway. If she stayed there past the time she was supposed to have died, it might've changed a lot of things. It's not like he was gonna stay there or anything. Plus Hiro didn't stop Mohinder from going to the carnival, he just saved his life and the film after Mohinder left the place. Personally I'm a bit let down that Hiro's whole bucket list storyline didn't really happen. I mean, what did he do? He helped Ando and saved Charlie, with the second thing not really working out. That's hardly a list. The Japanese office guy and Emma don't really count as they weren't on his list to begin with. Though I must say I'm happy that finally, FINALLY Hiro is in the thick of the action where the main story is. He's right there in the middle of the carnival with Samuel and his plan, unlike previous two times where he just appeared to punch Tracy and take the Formula and later where all he was at Building 26 while everyone was battling Sylar.

I do think this season is a lot better, there's been no slap-my-face stupid moments of inconsistent writing, there's no tacked-on cheap action scenes, they haven't been screwing with the characters too much (Claire is bearable now) and there's a good long plot unfolding slowly. I dunno about anyone else who doesn't like the slower pace but I find it rewarding when a story takes its time a little, it revs up like hell at the end.
