Uhh. . .I dont mean to put the race card in there but. . .Sokka and kitara were BLACK. . .or at least had VERY BROWN SKIN in the cartoon, as with the rest of the water tribe. . .(actually they could be inuit, but that sentence above was just my knee jerk reaction to seeing the cast of characters. . .oh and inuit people aint white. . .)

Im sorry but thats just blatant racism, not to mention that all the other members of the water nation appear in the movie as straight up white people, not to mention the fire nation (the bad guys) are all straight up middle eastern people when in the cartoon they were OBVIOUSLY chinese, hell Iroh was a fkin Pai sho, tea loving grandmaster called the DRAGON of the west(and I dont mean any western dragon either). . .wtf is wrong with hollywood? Are they just TRYING to piss people off now? I mean the show was an all asian influence, asian houses, palaces (the earth nation basically had the chinese city of Chang"an however Its spelled and the forbidden palace in it, the wind nation were buddhist monks, the water nation were inuits living in the north and south poles, the fire nation were chinese living in eastern china, in some Chinese-Japanese mix style inner palace while the earth nation is seemingly based in western china despite looking like beijing)
Hell. . .I dont even think there were any white people in the cartoon! except for maybe the earth king.(he kinda looked white) oh and the guys in teh swamp. . . the characters were all either chinese, or brown
Theres no way in HELL im watching this movie, if they cant even get the colors of the cast right, which isnt very hard to do ffs, what else can they fk up? this is going to be worse than db evolution. . .Ill be keeping my 13 bucks thank you very much.

all I read was sokka and katara are black and you pay 13 bucks for a movie. I'm black and I didn't think sokka or katara were black. I saw them as natives who are brown ppl but I agree definitely not white. Although they did have white voice actors which doesn't mean anything...
To tell you the truth I'm not really bothered by it. It's just a movie. I wouldn't pay (rofl) 13 bucks to see it, but I wouldn't pay 13 bucks to see any movie....except maybe Cameron's Avatar which was the shizness.
In any case its a movie made in america. Did you expect anything less? I may or may not pay 5 bucks to watch it depending on whether I have someone to watch it with. It's not the end of the world.

I wanna know why they didn't even attemp to keep the ethnicity of the characters, I mean things like this dont normally get to me that much but because it was so heavily shown in the cartoon, it does get to me that they went a different way. The water tribe should be Inuit, so people with a tanned or brown skin complection would be best for the part. Hollywood just messed up a really good cartoon.

Shyamalan is the worst director ever. Anything he touches is shit, all his movies make me cringe, the one exception might be unbreakable, I have no idea why anyone would ever give him a major movie again after his last few suckfests bombed in the boxoffice

Well, I think this was better than the cartoon. I, personally, loved the movie... probably because it was 3D and had awesome effects.
