Thread: Confirmed: Keanu Reeves as Spike in Cowboy Bebop

So any thought who will play the role of Ein or Edward? (Paris Hilton?)

^I read a discussion on that topic somewhere. Apparently there's a good chance we won't see either Ed or Ein in the movie. Keanu said in an older interview that since they had only 2 hours to tell a coherent story they'd start out with the 'Red Eye' subplot, pick and choose stuff in between and then skip right to the end with the crime syndicate.

Coboy Bebop Live Action? My god... no.

I have no faith in this movie, fuck you 20th Century Fox.

Hmm. I've got mixed feelings about this.
Ed's one of the coolest characters in the series, but

-It would be almost impossible for any actress to play this role well
-this way they have less characters to screw up

No Ed or Ein........... Yeah, I see a Dragonball remake, but with spaceships and guns. Another movie to boycott?

Throwing away the actors issue for a bit...i wonder what the script looks like.

Will Vincent even appear? What about Julia?
Or will it ultimately be something like the CB animation movie? Just an action movie like any other..?

My guess is that they'll just pull a Dragon Ball and make it the way they seem fits. I don't eve know how it'd be possible to introduced the whole crew with all it's history of themselves and the relationships between each other. My guess is that they'll just take what characters they like and make up some random story.

and most of the time random shit doesnt work..... just look at dragonball.

Some good news for the pessimists. Sunrise reserves the right to veto any subpar scripts.

Part of why it's taken so long for this project to get off the ground is because of contract negotiations between Sunrise and 20th Century Fox, where Sunrise can assert a high level of quality control. At the panel they said, "If the script is terrible, the live-action film adaptation will not be approved."

That's some good news indeed - it seems they still do care about CB. I approve of this.
But still... It all depends on their definition of 'terrible'.
