    Default The Office

Is anyone else watching this sitcom because it is funny as hell. Wikipedia can probably do a better job describing the show than I can so here it is:

"The Office is an Emmy Award-winning American television sitcom airing on NBC and developed by Greg Daniels from the BBC series of the same name. Unlike most sitcoms, The Office is shot in a single-camera setup, without a studio audience or a laugh track, and is made in the form of a documentary, or "mockumentary". It depicts the everyday lives of office employees in the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. Although fictional and scripted, the show takes the form of a documentary, with the presence of the camera openly acknowledged."

If you guys have some time on your hands, I recommend you check this series out. The first episode was a bit boring but it gets better really quickly.

The first two seasons were great. The third was okay. The fourth has been completely horrible unless you prefer drama over comedy, and don't mind terrible writing. I can only hope that the fifth season will be an improvement, although I see no reason to believe that it will be that way.

So... just watch the first two or three seasons. There isn't enough comedy in the fourth to make up for the bad writing.

Yeah, I just started watching it so I'm still on the first few episodes of the third season. However, I noticed that the whole theme was shifting slowly towards drama instead of comedy.

Oh well, I can always count on Michael to do something stupid though. Don't you just hate Angela though?

I don't really hate Angela, not anymore. She's been a bitch throughout the series, but with stuff in season 4, you start feeling a little bit of sympathy, and... actually, I'd have preferred that it didn't get so dramatic. It's kind of good at times to see that no one's perfect (at ALL), but when the plot suffers and the series isn't really a comedy anymore just because the writers want to throw in some plot twists that never go anywhere...

The season 4 finale was amazing though. Almost compensates for the entire season.

I never actually watched the office, but I hear great things about it. Is it just as good as Blackadder and Bottom.?

Really? :/ I only liked two parts about it: That Holly thought Kevin was mentally retarded - the way it was set up was GREAT - and Dwight and Angela at the end... yeah. Everything else felt like the writers had to stick a bunch of plot twists in, and never bothered to develop them further/set them up in the series. It wasn't even really all that funny, either.

The beginning of the 4th season had some of the funniest episodes especially the first ep of it (Myth rabies kills 3 people a year, fact rabies kills 4 people a year) and it did get a little slow afterwards but other than that, the quality didn't decline.

    3rd season probably my favorite.

It's kind of disappointing that Jim stops pulling pranks on Dwight. Hopefully he changes his mind. I'm still debating whether the vending machine or the fax was Jim's best prank.
