Default Whats your favorite foreign movie

Arite, there are a ton of movies that are originally not made in english and most we never get to see on the big screen. Even then theres still some movies that we don't even know exist until there are released onto DVD. A big portion of these movies are in fact foreign(atleast in the perspective of a north-american, but doesn't have to be). Alot of movies that fall into this catagory don't appeal to most people, but however every now and then there is a movie that does stick out and you can honestly call it a good movie.

Kung fu Hustle is a good example of this, in that before it was released on DVD i never heard of it. But after renting it and watching it a few times (i enjoyed it everytime), it was a pretty wicked movie. Its pretty funny and has plenty of fight scenes which i enjoyed (to be expected if i read manga :P).

So after all this i have to ask whats your favorite foreign movie?

I dunno I have several and I'm probably forgetting a few; OldBoy, Hero, Ong-Bak, Paris Je'Taime, Volver, Pan's Labyrinth...

I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

Wha? They showed kung fu hustle in cinema here :S I remember everybody talking about it lol. Well anyway my favs.

Theres alot of great bosnian and yugoslavian movies out there which I love, but most of them haven't been released outside so im not gonna name them except for 'No Mans Land' < it even won an oscar for best foreign movie or smth, Then theres some asian movies that I like. 'Hard Boiled', 'Brother', old Jackie Chan movies (the chinese ones), and oh Old Boy, and some more John Woo, like, 'Once A Thief', 'The Killer', 'A better tommorow I and II', oh the classic Seven Samurai (Great movie), there are some more but I can't remember em' right now lol. And oh, 'Ondskan' a good Swedish movie it was nominated for an oscar but it didn't win lol.

I love subtitles. Although all my favourite foreign films, or most of them, are Japanese... I guess that for the movies I watch...

    +Any Miyazaki film
    +Ringu
    +Paprika
    +Pan's Labyrinth

C.R.A.Z.Y was also a really good movie, if not actually foreign to me (although it's in French. Does that count?). Also, Hot Fuzz and Bend It Like Beckham are "technically" foreign, being British, and are amazing movies.

(Which reminds me - Shaun of the Dead and Taiyou no Uta need watching.)

Seven Samurai, of course. A true masterpiece, and my #2 of all time.

28 days later, they are kinda zombie ish, its not like they come back from the dead, they get infected with a virus that makes them zombies, kinda like in resident evil.

    Ghosts of city solei
