... I'm usually cold and aloof but I define truly masterful films by their power to emotionally affect me. What movie has done so to you most profoundly?

The ending to Babel when she stands naked in front of the cop
In Lost In Translation when Charlotte is sitting in the window
The scene in the park at the end of Little Children
The deaths of Nameless and Broken Sword in Hero
The rape and eventual death of Brandon Tina in Boys Dont Cry
The court scene in Reign Over Me

An episode in Criminal minds, its called The Last Word I think, where an innocent woman on death row chooses to die rather than let her son know his father was a serial killer.
Nearly moved me to tears, nearly.

We Were Soldiers did it for me. Well the part when the wife of the main character was going around passing the letters of death to the wives of the deceased.

The rape of a girl in Irrevesible
When Russell Crowe in A Beatifull Mind realises that the people he loves doesn't exists..
Crash was almost all the way, a emotionel movie for me.
Requiem for a Dream The Ending.

The Joy Luck Club always brings me to tears. That's a beautiful movie, and just seeing what these people have gone through and how they react to things now is amazing. Every time I watch that movie, I cry for hours.

Honestly, thinking of all the movies I've seen... nothing compares to that.

I've got a few:
The Fountain - this makes me all shaky and sad, but ends up comforting me... It's ironic but ingenious.
Stalker - The entire movie. Everything in the entire movie finds resonance in emotions and thoughts, the philosophical dialogues, the utterly hopeless world. It was both a heartwrencher and a mindwrencher.
American History X - the ending. You know what I mean.
Blood Diamond - The phone call at the ending was probably the most heartwrenching single scene I've ever watched. The contrast!
Casshern - Blablabla, not much in this movie makes sense, but the ending... God, the ending!
Romper Stomper - Another one of those, you know what I mean if you've seen the movie.
City of God
Alpha Dog - The execution scene.
The Return
Requiem for a Dream
The Talented Mr.Ripley - the ending
Dead Poets Society - The ending.

Hey, maybe I'm just a bit too sensitive? still... Great movies all of them.

The conclusion of Infernal Affairs is pretty damn emotional.

Never been kissed - Can't remember why.. it just moved me..

And just about every CSI episode is frightening involving and interesting.

Terminator 2, the last part where the terminator sacrifice himself. I saw it when I was like seven.
After that there's The Rock, near the end when Nicholas Cage got blown into the sea.
Then there's Armageddon, when Bruce Willis sacrifice himself to blow up the asteroid.
I'm starting to see a disturbing pattern here.
