Thread: Max Payne

This was a fun game to play on the PC (especially with the mods) but I am skeptic about it being made into a movie. You guys think it will be a big hit or flop?

Urgh I don't know. The games were basically a movie that you played, and explored all you need to know. Its just going to be a re-do of that.

It could be a hit, if advertised correctly. Will it take the action sequences style that was applied in the games, or will they take a different approach?

Max Payne, was a psycological trip, I love the background insights into his mind and story that the game had. Hopefully they will impliment that. It was definitely the atmosphere that made the games great, if they fail with the atmosphere, all we are going to have is a matrix with a guy who can't fly.

I think this could be a big hit. There have been a couple Max Payneish movies before, that kinda feels a lil like Max Payne. i.e Payback with Mel Gibson and Van Damme's new movie Until Death which were both good movies imo. But I think Max Payne top that. But then again this is an independent film so you never know.

@SD, what about John Woo?

Don't know what to say about the trailer...the PC game was great, but..I also think it's best to leave it there..why make a movie aobut a game..haven't they learned anything from Street fighter, Mortal combat..they all sucked!

If john woo worked with the project (Director/writer) it could become a fairly good movie I think...Hard boiler was brilliant! maybe one of his best movies...in my opinion ^^

Which actor do you think can play Max Payne? The only one I can think of is Keanu Reeves, he was good in Constantine. Another one might be Thomas Jane but he might passed it up cause he played a similar character in The Punisher.

Keanu would suck at playing Max Payne.

yeah...keanu's only good movie was the matrix..the first one! He only got one expression in all of his movies :/
maybe some rough face..like Mickey Rourke, if he lost a few pounds and worked out a little ^^

No John Woo in the movie.

And who will play him? No one famous. Its an independent film, and who I think should play Payne. Well I know some people will not like this lol. But, Mel Gibson.

Hes only good movie was the Devils Advocate! But he doesn't even look like payne. You gotta have an actor that atleast looks like Max
