NO.
Jap live action would probably not be as good as US live action. Sure, the US would A) leave out all real Japanese influence outside of anything obscenely direct, and B) not have a romance between the leads that makes any sense (like Transformers... or any other action movie), but we have insane budgets and wouldn't want to look bad in front of the Japs who made the movie... along with the fags (us) who would wait in line for months to watch it and the normal people (who just want to watch because shit gets blown up).
I insulted the otaku nation... but p-shah. Who cares? Words to segregate subcultures don't mean anything.
O yeah, and, if for nothing else, I just DONT want to see an Asian play the lead... so go go US and its hoarde of white people, most of whom are unsufferably sub-par and/or entertainingly par.

If anything, though, I'd rather not have a live-action Gundam movie. Most likely, it'll either follow that new one's storyline or Gundam Seed's because a lot of people (myself excluded) liked that one. Otherwise, it'll be a totally new storyline written, most likely, by bs writers who flub the whole series with one movie.
Serenity writers + FMP influence + multimillion dollar budget + a good director =
the US will probably still make a 2-star movie... Or 2.5 star if we get lucky.
Plus they already got a voltron movie coming out. Gundam is good enough on it's own and doesn't need live action to make the series better.
