Thread: Harry Potter 5

Dammit, I ended up seeing it much earlier then I expected. Odd irony.

Anyway, who else saw it and what did you think?

The movies are getting betta...

and I do like how the twins got a shitload more air time in this one. It makes their fireworks display/prank 10 times more awesome.

Umbridge was too pretty. I imagined an uglier version of McGonnagal for her role....

and that was the shittiest love relationship scene I have ever seen. Seriously...

I enjoyed it. I would rank the movies 5 4 1 2 3, honestly. 5 and 4 are close, 1, 2, and 3 suck.

A lot was cut, but it wasn't like the third movie where basically the entire book was gone. That sucked.

haven't watch it yet, but plan to. a friend of mine also rated this movie as the best. apparently most of the key plot points were kept intact, and the acting is better than the other ones.

Eh. It was ok. 4 was better imho. That ending scene with Dumbledore and Voldemort was awesome but it didnt follow the book!... that ruined it for me, they didn't follow enough of the book. Whoever does 6 is gonna have to fix this. Please let Cuaron direct this time...

Yates is directing both 5 and 6, so he'll be back for HBP.

Cuaron? God no, not again. He's by far the best director they've had, but he completely ruined PoA. I don't want him to screw up the last movie too.

I can't really say who I want to direct DH yet...not until I've read it, at least. Spielberg almost directed the first one, though...

The 4th movie, all they did was grunt. Grunt and more grunt in like every scene.

3 movie was good till the end. It was really playful, funny, and had great transitions; an enormous positive difference from the 1 and 2nd movie. However, at the very end is what KILLED it. They sooooooooo should've explained more things!

Yea, the fight scene wasn't that cool for me too.

What bothers me the most ... is probably the book's fault. Why do 5 TEENagers getta survive against an ARMY of EVIL PROFESSIONAL bad guys while a more experienced man named Sirus dies. Grrrrr.

They also cut out the whole house elf betraying em and stuff. What's the point of introducing the house elf if he doesn't getta do anything? =(

same. And wasnt there supposed to be a huge plot point that it could also be Neville that dies fighting voldemort?... Seems like a spoiler as to whos doing what in book 7

Also, CPR I wasnt talking about the screenplay I said VISUAL style.

Nah, it can't be Neville.

"the dark lord will mark him as his equal" refers to the scar. That's solely about Harry...

The whole "wait it can be Neville!" thing is stupid since in the book almost after they introduce the idea that Neville could be the hero, they bash down the idea.

edit: another problem with the movie was Harry was not nearly as angry as the book. I swear, when I read the book I was like "Harry is going through puberty!!!"

also, that was a crappy cheezy ending.
