Ah, yes the Robert Rodriguez, Quentin Tarantino double feature. With Plant Terror and Death Proof.

Anyway, because couldn't have gotten anymore off topic. Rosario Dawson, barely did anything. Honestly, my favorite was Zoe I mean she held on to the car till the end and then when she finally falls off into to the bush and jumps up like a rabbit was the funniest thing ever. Plus, after that I have to say the Driver Tracie Thoms was pretty damn funny. I personally loved her never ending ending jabbering while she was hunting down Kurt Russel's character Stuntman Bob.

Zoe was decent, but she was a complete moron in the first place.

The driver, though...Jesus. So. Damn. Annoying!

I'm still mystified that the girls didn't just, you know, stop the car so that Zoe could get back in.

Death Proof's biggest problem, in my mind, is that Quentin Tarantino is so obsessed with the greatness of his dialogue that he lets the film drag. Sure, it's entertaining, but the dialogue grew tiresome. He needed to tighten the film quite a bit.

Planet Terror, though...that was just perfect.

Yeah, the dialogue did get a bit tiresome. I really didn't want to hear the girls or anyone talk so much.

Planet Terror was really good I wouldn't say perfect. I found the dialogue a bit teiduous too, but of the two I feel that it is the better film. Also, damn it was a gory film. Watching Tarantino's testicles melt was not my cup of tea.

blah blah blah those were the two most awesome movies ive probably ever seen. those pictures in Planet Terror, and the fucking BALLS OMG WHO COLLECTS TESTICLES!!!

Planet Terror was definitely among the best movies I've seen - ever. (You know, it kind of reminded me of Gantz, in a way? Just a little.) I couldn't think of one way to improve it, except maybe if Cherry Darling had gotten the gun just a little earlier- on second thought, it was perfect.

Death Proof was a good movie in its own right, and I see why it was the way it was, but I agree that there was just a little too much dialogue. I'd have liked to see some more deaths at the hands of Stuntman Mike, though; his character change after the girls started chasing after him just wasn't... I think it would have been better if he'd been a little more... evil, I suppose. Still, good movie. ^_^

And the PREVIEWS - OMFG. Nothing will beat "Hobo with a Shotgun" for me. ^_~

To me grindhouse was really three movies, Planet Terror, Deathproof up until the first 4 girls got killed, then Deathproof after he scopes out the last 4 girls. The two halves had nothing to do with one another other than establishing him as a sociopath. I agree with the daily news though. 4 stars for Planet Terror + 3 stars for Deathproof = 3.5/4 stars for Grindhouse.

I was surprised to find Rose McGowan had been casted. I personally thought she was a crappy actress, but I haven't seen it yet. Damn rain spoiled my day.

I saw it today at 1:30 on a tuesday. Best time to see a movie. There was no one talking. I liked Planet Terror better than Deathproof. I, also feel there was too much talking. I loved Thanksgiving and Machete(sp?).

I agree Death Proof really did seem like two different movies.

Man I did not see it coming when the girls crashed into the deathproof car. I mean I saw the crash coming but not the brutality of it. THE FACE WAS LIKE ONE BIG SKID MARK, looked liked dirt coming off the road, except it was flesh. The movie was freaking awsome except for some of the QT dialogue.
