Thread: Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens

so, i just read the first chapter. and i think it was OK...

i need your opinion. is it any good? should i continue reading it? or does it end up become just another maho shojo....
what do you guys think?

I stuck it out for about five chapters before bailing. It's not just another magical girlfriend story, but I was bored and annoyed anyway.

Protip: Nagi is a slut.

It's pretty fun. Not in a ROFL way, but I get a chuckle out of the gags and the chapters end with a predictable but pleasing punchline. I even like the characters, even Nagi despite her slutiness (I'll reserve my judgement on that issue).

I guess I like kooky characters in general. Speaking of which, has anyone noticed a lot of tsundere-type girls with extra loose screws lately? (in recent manga/anime I mean--if you see them in the real world run away)

I've watched the first 5 eps of the anime and it's well done. I don't think the series' moderate popularity will last though.

The manga is actually quite enjoyable, for a romcom shonen title. The only problem was, every time Nagi entered the scene I would imagine her !@*!$* with a @%$*, being used goods and all. That ruined it for me ;_;

interesting... very interesting... i think i'm gonna continue for some chapter before i decide to drop it or not.... thanks for the insight guys...and by the look of it, it couldn't be more worse than marugoto anju gakuen or sekirei... right?

Nagi's slutiness isn't apparent early on. The first I heard of it was someone mentioning the rumors around the author taking a "break". It doesn't bother me too much.

I'll be vague because I don't want to ruin it for anyone (myself included). I haven't gotten very far in either the manga or the anime, but I'll have some patience. So far I think there's a reason for her "earthliness". There're some allusions to it early on. The author intended this all along and it's not gratuitous. So in the end it might be okay. I'll give it a chance.

Watched the first episode, it was alright. I like Nagi's voice actress.

I have read up to the beach chapter. I think it was chapter 21. Maybe I missed something big time but the only sexy thing was when Jin and Nagi took a tumble after her bath, but that was just standard shonen manga stuff.
