Thread: Fujoshi Kanojo

Lessee -- ordinary boy chases girl of his dreams, and only once he gets her does he discover she is, gasp!, an otaku. Cue purportedly wacky hijinx. Despite hating every since series with this premise I tried, I tried this one -- because all the others were shounen, and this one? It's josei.

This means a) the protagonists are college-age, so yay basic emotional maturity, and b) the heroine isn't into shounen crap -- she's a hardcore yaoi fan ("fujoshi"). In the three chapters scanned, very little hardcore yaoi has shown up -- though she *has* bullied him into writing her a shounen ai fic. Hee. And best of all, while the hero's a little baffled by her enthusiasms, he isn't wigged out. He's just a guy trying to make a relationship with someone he likes but doesn't always understand. (Heck, half the time, he can't follow her slang without a scorecard.)

Anyone else poked at this one?
