Thread: Tytania anime

It was very difficult to decide which anime I'm watching was worth a forum thread discussing it, but Tytania is probably the best to work with.

Tytania is a space opera, following the Tytania clan, which is the strongest military and political power in the Empire (so much so that they can kill the Prime Minister in broad daylight and get away with it). It's headed by a Lord and four Dukes, and has never known defeat. Until now, when an unknown admiral, Fan Hyulick, administers the first defeat that Tytania has experienced in its 200+ years of total military and political dominance. Fan Hyulick is actually a happy-go-lucky, inexperienced drifter who was put in charge because he was expected to lose. Now, he's suddenly become a symbol for the anti-Tytanian movements across the galaxy... but all he wants to do is live a carefree life. And to make things even more complicated, the four Dukes of Tytania are maneuvering to make themselves the successor to the current Lord, and the Lord plans on using this crisis to test them.

So, anyone else following this series?


Which Duke do you think has the best chance of becoming the successor? Or will it be someone else altogether - like Fan Hyulick? Or will Tytania crumble?

And can anyone figure out who Lydia is and which side she'll come to? My personal opinion is that she's the Emperor's daughter, and she's going to become Tytania's new puppet on the throne once her father's gotten rid of.

(Up to episode 5): Any thoughts about Miranda? Has she really given up her country, you think? Or is she just biding her time? And what about Lira and De Baer, left behind?

The first 3 episodes hooked me, I hope they keep it at this pace can't wait for ep 5.

Yay! Another Tytania watcher! So, what do you think about the Dukes so far? Which one do you like best?

Hey, this might be a bit off-topic, but I don't care, I have to tell you all who don't know this. If you like Tytania, the you have to check out Legend of the Galactic Heroes. Both are based of of Novels by the same author, LoGH being the first anime ever to be based of of Novels (or that's what I've heard).

I like Tytania, but because of some computer problems I haven't been able to watch past the first episode. Well... I think I'll like it at least. Keep the thread alive 'til I've caught up.
