Bah, not a chance. To quote Seto: "Well, if [they claim] it's not true, then it must be false, right?" Nothing in the manga gives the impression that they are more than friends... in fact, even slightly less than friends, since they are both using each other.
There are too many emotionally-hurtful moments in I''s to give that particular scene much weight in my eyes. In the last volume alone, the sacrifice that Seto makes, and then the mishandled library scene in the dream were much more poignant and wrenching. But then again, I'm partial to take Iori's side.
