Just read the first chapter out of boredom. It's not gonna be that long and I can't see the ending being anything different from what the story tells us.

I don't know exactly why, but I found this quite charming actually. It does have a bit of potential.

It wasn't anything on Death Note's level, but I think it was pretty entertaining. Anyway, I can already see a 5cm per second kind of ending; almost everything is set up already. I wouldn't be surprised if they even fail badly with their manga at the end.

Well beeing the work of the authors of death note and hikaru no go surely makes it worth seeing, but this nothing like those 2.
it has a rather relaxed storyline, that will certainatly end soon. (and i think the ending will not be anything unexpected)
i guess i will keep reading, its nice to have something like this now and then.

I thought the writer for death note and hikaru no go were different.
Hikaru no Go was written by a female named Yumi Hotta (wasn't it?)

Anyways, regardless if the story starts out mediocre or whatever, I'll follow the series anyways, because I like his art

I don't think it seems much like a romance really, that's just what motivates the main character in his pursuit of perfection. Didn't they tell each others that they could not date or anything before they succeeded in their goals?

And to why it's not Death Note 2, I personally believe that they would get bored of always writing the same kind of stories. Isn't it refreshing to write something completely different and learn from the new experiences? I, as a writer, sympathize with them and give them my full support 'til the day this manga is long enough to judge without Death Note-prejudice.

EDIT: BTW, I felt that Death Note was extremely boring until one volume into the story, so.
