    Default Angel Densetsu

    Dear friends,

We have now come to the end of a wonderful series. Now, as the last chapter of Volume 15 has been released and our window into the lives of those funny people at Hekikuu High School comes to a close, what are your thoughts and feelings on this?

For me, I had a sneaking suspicion the series would end this way. The entire series has always been a series of small arcs, anyway, so the sense of the ending just being a place where the story arc ends and life still goes on is perfect for me. And it's not as if there wasn't a climax... seeing the entire Kitano family for the last three chapters, that first kiss, seeing Ikuko take an active role for a change, Takehisa recognising Kitano's true nature, having Ogisu realise his power and Ikuno her love interest... all of that made it a very satifying concluding volume. Plus the Final Holy War itself was pretty cool too.

And the author's notes at the end were really a nice bonus. When you think about it, the only two people whose natures haven't changed throughout the entire series have been the two protagonists. It was the dynamic between Kuroda and Kitano which really drives a lot of the comedy... especially when Takehisa and Ryoko are involved as well. Yagi Norihiro-sensei really created characters that are so wildly exaggerated that they're fun to watch and memorable. And the openness of the ending is perfectly suited for fanfiction writers or doujins to carry on, as well...

In short, Angel Densetsu is going into my must-keep folder. What about you?

I like the series from the very start. Yeah I agree the ending is very predictable. He (the mangaka) did mention it a couple of times that he wrote Angel Densetsu as a one shot and not as a series. It just had a life of its own and went going strong.

My favorite arc is the student president arc. The whole romance blooming between Kitano and Ryoko and the whole misunderstanding from everyone left me laughing non-stop.

I don't have a personal favorite in the series. I do have some favorite-combination there. Ryoko and Kuroda. Takehisa and Ikuno. Whenever this combo are together. Theres always something thats gonna happen.

My favorite scene at the last chapter is the one were the brown-haired guy (I forgot his name) realise that he was actually strong. I was laughing at him to finally see how abnormal everyone around him is. XD

The series was ... repetetive. Same joke all the time, but still I enjoyed it.

Took them long enough to notice he was a good guy ;p

I liked the ending. It doesn't land with the same satisfaction as, say, YKK or Ai-Ren, but it doesn't bobble the footing at least. The first kiss bit was especially well done, I thought. Definitely a keeper series, though.
Today is always the most enjoyable day. Just ask Yotsuba.

The ending was both a small wrap up and an opening ending. It isn't as satisfying as the ending that you mentioned but he did finalized a few things. They finally showed how powerful Kitano's group is and showed what happened to everyone that Kitano met but at the same time they showed that this isn't the end of the story. The story could keep going and you can just imagine how it would unfold.
