Hmmm...from what i can tell these mangas are both based off games of the eva series.

Refer to here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shinji_...aising_Project For the "Evangelion-ikari shinji ikusei Keikaku" series. Basically it seems so far to be what you can ecpect from a bishoujo game turned anime/manga. It takes place is the alternate reality that you see in episode 26. The one where asuka and shinji are childhood friends, both shinjis parents are alive and he lives with him and misato is there teacher, along with kaji the pe teacher and ritsuko the school nurse. Decent if you like ecchi manga...if your looking for an extension of the original Eva i doubt you'll appreciate it.

Iron maiden 2 is similar(Wiki Link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girlfriend_of_Steel_2 ). The first Iron Maiden was a game in which you took care of shinji where a new girl was introduced. A basic bishoujo game. I expect that iron maiden 2 from what i saw of the first chapter is similar to that, where it is an alternate retelling of the alternate universe in episode 26. At the end of chapter 1 they mention nerv, though i doubt it will be too serious and have more to do with relationships than actual mecha though i may be wrong. It even seems to me that Rei's character is the same as you saw in episode 26, being clumsy and a complete opposite. The one in ikusei keikaku is just seductive and more like the old rei but you can tell that one has a soul.

So neither are an exact sequel...think of it as more as a graphic fanfic...

It's true that it's more of a fanfic than a sequel.
Btw is it ok to read these two even if I havent read the manga?
Besides that big thanks to you!!!

eh...i never read the manga but both of these feel like standalones. Where they develop there own characters and story line. I find iron maiden 2 very interesting and will be very excited when more will be released. I appreciate them more cause i saw just the anime so i am sure you will as well.

The two of them are practically "licenced doujinshis": They have nothing to do with the canon (They are more like a parody of the original story). If you're looking for something equally good to the anime read the Sadamoto version or the ReTake doujinshis series because these titles are little more than another example of how Gainax has excessively exploited the Evangelion name.

Have you watched the two movies of it? That's what I consider the real ending.

They're called "Evangelion - Death and Rebirth" and "The end of Evangelion", IIRC.

Retake Eva pwns all Eva mangas (yes even the original one XD)

I seem to remember there was another Eva series. Its more on the comedy side. I can't remember the name. All I can remember is that the first chapter is about Valentines chocolate. Kaworu was pretty scary at that time (offering himself to shinji. brrr >_<") Is it one of those?

So it's actually not related to the real mangaka of Eva? Doesn't matter anyways cos I havent read any Eva manga in the past.

And yes I have, but still i find it somehow incomplete and dissatisfying, like other people.

You don't really need to watch the original Eva anime, or have read the manga to understand the story in Iron Maiden 2 or Ikusei Keikaku. It just makes the characters have more meaning. If you know the basic story of Eva and the character, then I think it will make the story more enjoyable. I bought the mangas of both of these stories. It has just about all the characters, and from what I can tell, Iron Maiden touches a bit on the canon... Sort of. o.O

All in all, I enjoyed them, and it was a reason for me to practice my Japanese.
