It could be worse, I suppose. At least Viz doesn't really mess up titles or names... anymore...

*sighs and waits for n00bs in Download Requests*

What are some examples of that?

    Just as a reference.

I'm like at 95% at buying it. It was the first manga that I really read, brought me into the life.

Got to pay my respects that way I guess.

I'm bringing this back up because I'm wondering if anyone has heard of anything about what viz is going to do with the manga as a whole? Like how much they are going to edit and alter from the original work.

As far as I know, Viz isn't know for its major edits. Sure, it uses lots of slang, but the only general change/censorship I know of is where they changed a "fuck you" to "thank you" in the end of a D.Gray-Man arc (and they might've left that phrase intact in earlier chapters). There's also the strange romanization of Japanese, but I've learned to live with it, after seeing Japanese authours themselves do things that way.

So you can expect lots of terrible slang, but I doubt we'll see much of a change in anything. They're no Tokyopop, after all - they kept the original name, didn't they?

Be glad it didn't get licensed by TokyoPoop.

Viz has control of almost all Jump titles I don't think anyone would ever have to worry about that happening.

No, it has control of ALL Jump titles, whether it wants to license them or not - and, for that matter, everything from Shounen Sunday too, I'd bet (and Ribon, but no one cares about them =P). It's owned by Shogakukan and Shueisha, after all - Shueisha is the publisher of the JUMP magazines. There's no way they'd let anything but their own company publish those manga.

That might explain their weird romanization, too...
