    Well, Gantz, obviously.

Aside from that, probably Koroshiya Ichi.

Gantz should be licensed by Dark Horse, but Viz has first dibs...I think they passed on it, though. Cowards .

Toshiue no Hito, Ai kora (love & collage) and To-LOVE-Ru. I'm a sucker for romance/comedy manga lol. I wish tokyopop will license these three, i'm not much of a big fan of VIZ. But knowing VIZ that licensed shonen jump and midori no hibi, my bet is that ai kora and to-love-ru will be licensed by VIZ. I wish they would license tosihue no hito, but it's not that famous. Oh and i wish they would license Devil & Devil too, i would love to read it in volume format (in english fo course).

mystic_guard_sinoel: Amazon is your friend -- and mine. (Plain brown cardboard is the new plain brown wrapper!)

I am amused that the amines, for ex, of Gantz and Koi Kaze are licensed but not the manga. And I would love to see the latter licensed.

Pretty much all of Adachi's works. It's surprising how only Short Program and Short Program 2 have been licensed in English by Viz. Do they really think American audiences to be so shallow as to not appreciate a good story just because the art looks simplistic? How come Takahashi's work gets licensed, but not Adachi's? They're about equal in terms of storytelling AND art style. *grumble* *grumble* I ought to start a campaign some day.

*g* Rough was #3 on my list -- so it's now #2 -- and H2's not far below it. (The Maria-sama ga Miteru light novels come between.)

Though, actually, I suspect Niji Iro Togarashi would do best in America.

    They would be incredibly angry.

Not as angry as they would be if Koroshiya Ichi were to be published, though.

I suspect Viz will get to Gantz eventually. Enough fans and they'll do it. To LoveRu is almost a given, though, for licensing.

I actually find Viz better than Tokyopop - their prices are more reasonable and I prefer their translations of names/titles/etc. I haven't seen a huge difference in the actual translation of either, but after Tokyopop's god-awful naming ("Satisfaction Guaranteed" "Chibi Vampires", etc.) I haven't trusted them. (Viz only translates their names, as far as I know. Sometimes things come out weird but it's always a direct translation.)

Tokyopop's treatment of Battle Royale was on par with 4Kids' butchering of One Piece. I don't care for Viz, but they're better than Tokyopop.

The ugly truth seems to be that the best subs/scanslations are done by fans for fans. It's really labor intensive to do a good translation and then do all the mechanical stuff to make it look right on the screen. I suspect that profit motive and time pressures make it a losing proposition in the commercial world.
Not really the love+hate god, but the pic (from Midori no Hibi) is just too funny... Blog? Yeah.
