I just finished the series and i thought it was ok till the end which was pretty good.
The story kinda lagged and took forever but in the end everythin gwraped up nicely and i enjoyed it very much.
what are your opinions on the series?

Same criticisms on Monster as 20th Century Boys:
There are times when you feel it's all a bit dragged out, but all in all, you forgive those "flaws" because the characters and story are so good. They're mangas that could use a "Director's Cut" edition, in the sense that some storylines could be told in a more cohesive and compact form. (20th Century Boys isn't done yet though)
i know Monster is an incredibly long manga, but for some reason, i didn't feel like it was drawn out. i felt that the story flowed really well, and it didn't hurt to have a bunch of well-developed characters along the way. tenma makes a pretty good protagonist - incredibly realistic and believable.
oh, and did i mention that Monster has possibly the best manga ending ever ? i usually dislike open endings, but Monster pulls it off. extremely well.
Ok? Pretty good? I'm insulted.
Monster was a masterpiece from start to finish.
The anime was very well done, and I'm assuming from the posts that the manga is as well. I'm lookin' at the manga downloads here and noticing that chapters 25-32 are missing, though, which makes me sad. Any idea why, or any alternative source for these missing chapters?
I haven't read the manga, but the anime was very well done.
I don't think it was dragged, it was just right. An anime to watch a bit slow, you know... enjoying it bit by bit.
Can't really think of anything that hasn't been said in previous posts.
Manga > Anime. Apparently that equation works everywhere and in my opinion, so here. A must-read manga.
^That's called an inequality.
^That is true, my good sir.
@Kolox- I actually beg to differ. I'd say this is one of those exceptions to that rule. The monster anime was done extremely well, and the manga didn't induce that sense of horror and supernatural nearly as well as the anime did. And the fact that the anime was true to the manga is a big plus as well. No fillers ever.

I liked it from start to finish. I like how the story moves and gives time for the characters to develop. Every one of them has a story to tell and a part to play
