    Default Tomboy heroines

I wanna read more manga featuring charismatic, athletic, assertive girls. Can be bokukko (girls who refer to themselves with male pronouns) or just jocks or simply strong. I'm thinking of ones like Haruna of Koukou Debut, Hina of Penguin Brothers, Tomari of Kashimashi, and (though she isn't a lead) Tatsuki of Bleach. Possibly Mizuki of Hana Kimi or Haruhi of Ouran Koukou Host Club, though cross-dressing isn't a requirement. Not the fast-talking girl who seems to be mainlining speed, like Wakaba of Revolutionary Girl Utena -- I'm looking for tomboys here.

Any suggestions? Shoujo, shounen, seinen, whatever. (Josei fine too, but I'd be surprised to find her in one.)

Don't forget Tsubasa from Tokyo Crazy Paradise.

In any case, try Hot Blooded Woman and Red Lion if you haven't yet. Both are Korean shoujo manhwa, about girls who used to be jjang (gang leaders) of their schools. One wants to be the top, the other wants to quit from being the top.

Show Me the Money is good for a quick, lighthearted read. 2-volume man hua about a rich boy turned poor, and conned into becoming the debt-slave of a high school "big sister" girl who's out to make money.

Hmm... I seem to be recommending only girls in gangs, because the other series I have in mind is Gokusen. (there's got to be others... something non-gang-related. Hmmm...)

    -Dizzy-
Manga Genre Focus: Romance, Comedy, Slice-of-life. Primarily shounen, then seinen and shoujo.
    Currently watching:

Hard to "forget" Tsubasa when I've only just finally downloaded the first volume. Not sure she counts because, although she's living as a boy, she doesn't make a very good one -- I get the impression she'd be pretty girly if allowed to follow her nature.

*notes down Hot Blooded Woman and Red Lion*

Try Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-Chan. Even if it's not what you're looking for it's still a funny anime. Yay, somebody else who appreciates Kasimasi.

And because it's what Cooler says in every other recomendation thread: Go read Berserk.

Actually, Berserk is a legitimate recommendation, in this case. After all, just look at Casca.

That doesn't mean you'd get anywhere near any of the manga they've mentioned though.

I've read Bleach and Hana Kimi...Bleach is trash and Hana Kimi is possibly the worst manga I've ever read.

Fuuko From Flame Of Recca is a tomboy. Unlike other girls she rather fight with Recca (main character and childhood friend) rather than doing girly stuff. She played a very big role in the series you might wanna check it out it's pretty cool.

Beni-iro Hero or Crimson Hero and Perfect Girl Evolution. Also try at Gintama, the stupid female alien (forgot her name) who has the strength of a thousand men and brain made of pea.
