Shin Angyo Onshi
I did a search thru the forums and was surprised that a thread on this amazing manwha hasn't been made (only been mentioned in fav manga and such).
The drawing is really well-done, and each chapter is pretty action packed. the characters are like-able (munsu is a bastard, but a cool bastard), and the ideas are interesting.
Shin Angyo Onshi are wanderers who go around punishing evil-doers. They're hired by the king of Junshin. At some point before the manwha starts, Junshin collapses. We learn that he was killed by the main character - who is a shin angyo onshi.
Now about the main character - he's not your average, kind hearted hero. he's a bastard. just read like... one chapter, and you'll get what i mean.
This section is useless to those that haven't read the manga, and might contain some spoilers.
we know that munsu killed the king and his lover. we also know that aji tae can manipulate reality. my guess is that both the king and his lover were fell under aji tae's influence, and munsu killed them both for the best - thus dissipating junshin before it can fall under aji tae's influence.
munsu will probably face off against aji tae.. but before that, i'm guessing he'll get some more help - like from that female shin angyo onshi in the recent arc.
I never found any of this past volume 5. Like everything else Yan Kyung-Il has ever drawn it is eminently worthy of your shelf space. Sando is also one of the only female manga characters to be a better fighter than her male partner and not just get delegated to side fights against other girls like so often happens in manga.
Uryuu freaky, pale and geeky,
how do your powers grow?
"With gloves and scars and silver stars
and swords that I shoot from a bow,
yes, swords that I shoot from a bow."
I love this series. I'm way behind, unfortunately.
It reminds me of Stephen King's The Dark Tower, in some respects.
the manga - up to volume 9 which is probably the latest - can be found at www.anime-source.com under Level 1 access, so anyone can read it.
i re-read it just recently, and realized that for every arc, re-reading it once is almost necessary to appreciate how the mangaka hides the true plot. the way he does it fits in very well with the reality vs distortion theme that goes on throughout the entire series.
it looks like StopTaz is hosting it in its "LATEST DOWNLOADS" section.
wow, the latest chapter, we finally get to see Aji Tae and Munsu talk together a bit. then Munsu did something with the needle he got; i wonder what he did? we know that the needle has the power to create illusions.
This is a question for people who've read quite far ahead, so spoilers obviously: Did Sando really sleep with Aji-Tae?
mm, there are no indications of that whatsoever ? lol
sando just likes aji tae a lot. at the point of the latest scanlation, she doesn't know who he really is. i think she might run away if she did find out.
i dont think she did either, didnt seem like it atleast to me
thanks for clarifying that. I'm only half way through volume 5 or 6 (it's been a while) and I wanted to know whether a spoiler I accidentally read was real or not.
do we get to see more of the female onshi ever?
yah, in the latest arc, they meet up with her again. a lot of people die, but she seems destined to live. i think all the survivors from the last battle will band together to help munsu.
