    Talking Hotman

This is a manga drawn by Shou Kitagawa. It is a story about a man named Enzo, an ex-gangleader. He is so handsome that he was very popular with women. He is just a violent and irresponsible punk.

However, one day his life changed drastically. In front of his door, there was a baby (Nanami) left by a girl who claimed that it was the baby of Enzo and hers. At first, Enzo didnít want to take any responsibility as there is chance that the baby wasnít his. However, the sad face of the baby changed his mind. Enzo felt that the baby is just in the same situation as his. Enzo took up the responsibility to take care of Nanami as well as his family members as their mother (editted) died. Enzo took up several jobs a day in order to support his family.

One day, Enzo found out that Nanami was diagnosed with Ďacute hypersensitivityí. Enzo felt very despair. Suddenly, he saw something in the TV mentioning addictives in the food lead to the same disease. Enzo felt responsible for Nanamiís disease. He read about health, studied and even took a college entrance exam. Finally, he became a ART teacher (editted) and a health freak.

At home, Enzo acts as a father of the family. He made several steel rules such as all of the family members should be at home for breakfast and dinner. All food on the table is made by Enzo who wants 100% of health food. Some of the foods are theoretically health food but disgusting when eaten.

The rest of the story evolves around the love of a father towards his child. Enzo and the rest of the family members use love to solve their problem and others as well. The manga is so popular that it was made into Japanese drama series, i.e. Hotman I and Hotman II.

Just be careful about following Enzo's dietary advice. This is not a cooking manga.

Art teacher, not P.E. teacher. But yeah, I remember first hearing about this story through my brother and sister who had recommended the live drama series to me. Since I didn't get a chance to watch it, I read the manga instead, and it turned out to be a lot better than what I expected. Really, really good.

It does sound like a seinen combat manga, or something. But then, very few manga titles sound like what they are. Even words you expect to be highly coded, such as "strawberry," can show up in anything from seinen to shoujo.

Yup, very few manga titles sound like what they are. Just look at Bleach, it got nothing to do with 'Bleach' but death gods.

Actually I kinda like this manga. For me, it actually resembles GTO. But, it got its own way.

Talking about Enzo, he is someone that would always put his hope for his family members' future more than on his own. He can really sacrifice himself so that others get their love. Man, in real life do we see this kind of people?

Umm, yeah. But I think he is already mature enough. LOL... Just that the way he think change with time. But I really hope Enzo could find his true love. Maybe Mirei sensei is suitable with him. LOL...
