    Default Afro Samurai

    Who's seen it?
Who's liked it? Didn't like it?
    Thought of some plot holes?
    Your impressions?

I thought it was hella good. Seemed a bit rushed, which is a nice change compared to these animes out now. And you do what you can in five episodes. Also heard the creation of a manga is in progress.

As always when one of these threads appear I ask: Plot explanation? I might watch it if you tell me what it is about and why it's good

Afro Samurai showed on Spike TV, animation style and choreography reminded me of a mix between the original Ninja Scroll movie and Samurai Champloo. Basically the plot is that there are two mystical headbands in the world no 1 and no 2, if you wear no 1 you're invincible except against someone wearing no 2, and anyone can attack no 2. The main character is a black samurai with an afro voiced by Samuel L. Jackson, I think, who wears the no 2 headand and is on his way to challenge the current no 1 voiced by Ron Perlman who killed Afro's father to claim the no 1 headband. Afro is accompanied by a ninja also voiced by Samuel L. Jackson. Of course there are flashbacks and fights along the way but thats the main plot.

I just watched it all last night (good torrent from cartoon planet) It did seem like a show that could use more episodes and Afro got to Justice kinda quickly. But the ending gives the impression of a continuation and it was well made and explained despite its shortness. I miss Okiku and Kuma was AWESOME. The fight with Justice was a bit of a dissapointment in terms of length (wtf was he?!?) and Im glad to see that three armed rumor about him was true. But most of all im glad Kuma is still alive. Hes the first prissy bitch that rocked my socks.

ps: too much cybernetics/robotics used in it for my taste but its still awesome that fight against the robot was HAWT.

Haven't finished it yet I still have the last two episodes to watch, I'll get around to it when I'm in the mood for that kind of show as my mood has been all over the place lately.

yeah...things happened WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too fast. The fights and animation were phenomenal, but everything happened within minutes of each other. Cuz i mean there's A LOT of room to explain things, if they wanted, but they were limited to 5 episodes. =( and what really let me down was the last fight with the "number 1." I was hoping an entire episode was just for fighting him...=\

I have the soundtrack...very well produced, by the RZA so I would expect no less.

Yea the number 1 fight was really just 3 attacks, not much of a fight. Kuma/Gino deft my fav character, the bit that his eyes are always tearing because hes never stopped crying since the day Afro killed master touched my emo heart.

Did you notice Afros master seemed to let Afro kill him, Afro charged and he only closed his eyes.

yeah. Jinno is my fav too. Spoiler: What really got me is that Ninja Ninja is an imaginary person. I wish we could have seen him fight but whatever. Afro is still one of the coolest characters, Jinno only wins out becuase hes just so damn gangsta in that teddybear helmet
