Default Dark Horse solicits MPD Psycho

    MPD-PSYCHO VOLUME 1

    EIJI OTSUKA (W) and SHO-U TAJIMA (A)
    On sale June 6
    b&w, 184 pages
    $10.95
    TPB, 5" x 7"

MPD-Psycho, the most-requested manga series in recently memory, has found a fitting home at Dark Horse Manga, where it will be presented uncut and uncensored in all of its controversial and unflinchingly grotesque glory! If Takashi Miike's MPD-Psycho television series still has you confused and reeling, the original manga series that inspired the show is sure to take you on a longer, darker journey into madness. Enjoy the MPD-Psycho series for all of its absurd twists, sci-fi touches, and inventive torture scenes, but you'll also be mesmerized by the plethora of odd conspiracies and case files found in Otsuka and Tajima's uncontrollable, urban horrorshow.
In MPD-Psycho Volume One, police detective Kobayashi Yousuke's life is changed forever after a serial killer notices something "special" about him. That same killer mutilates Kobayashi's wife and kick-starts a "multiple personality battle" within Kobayashi that pushes him into a complex tempest of interconnected deviants and evil forces. Earning praise for its consistently shocking plotlines and Tajima's clean, arresting art style, MPD-Psycho is the manga event of the decade!

o MPD-Psycho was rated the eighth most wanted Japanese series in U.S. fan polls!

o Originally licensed by another U.S. publisher, MPD-Psycho was deemed too shocking for them to release. But Dark Horse is always prepared to give manga readers what they want!

o MPD-Psycho has sold more than four million copies in Japan!

o Each volume comes shrink-wrapped and carries an 18+ content advisory.

    -----

I cant wait to hold an English language copy of this in my hand,
Every since I first read the scanlation I was hoping this would get licensed.
This is an amazing book that deserved this and will be lovd by so many more now that it will be more readily available.

    Excellent.

MPD Psycho is awesome. It's extremely confusing, but I love it.

The last release of "new" MPD Psycho material from Omanga was in 2004. Dark Horse will catch up fast...it's fine.

I believe the project has basically been dropped. No releases in over two years...never a good sign.

I'm definitely going to buy DH's releases. I need to reread MPD Psycho a few times...I'm still completely lost on a number of issues.

:...( you're so lucky, the shipping rates to my country are twice the expensive they're in the USA, and I'm only 4 hours away from the border, but don't have visa to go and buy it myself, Mpd is one of my favorites and I want it :...(
