Hey, do you know if jcafe is down temporarily or forever? Tried going the other day and kept getting an error. =(
Sweet, thanks Gen.
Morten, since your extremely busy, I thought it would be great to ask you about ST history Please and thank you. Only asking incase a war starts and I want to know which side has the better reason to win. Lolz, General Morten...
Thanks Mort^ Yeah, Nana to Kaoro looks interesting lol^
Hey morten. ^_^ I was wondering if you knew a good place where I could dl the manga superior? I have the first 3-4 Vol. But I cant remember where I got them =/ Thought I'd ask you, since I think you are a active in scanning etc. ^^'
I know what you mean about the mods (most were appointed during the 1st 2years ST was created) and have stuck in those positions as they aged and lost enthusiasm for the forum. At the same time, they are still the best heads to run ST. We don't have any other members here who have been around long enough who have been chronically active to potentially replace them. ST is like Sweden at this point- a large aged population with a smaller young population among the posters.
It's alright, I read his comment today. Not really surprised by his trolling^^ Don't know but I guess the best idea is to ignore him until the admin throws him out. He's such a sad motherfucker^^ Hope I can catch up with rpg though.
Cool, I was actually at Illuminati's chan earlier today, was trying to promote them to come back (GGPX) and some of their staff have visited and even donated before! Plus I told them I'd announce their release while I was leeching off their bot. xD I don't necessarily think there aren't any members who could, I just don't see the point of needing new ones yet until the community rallies up is all. Though, it's not like I call the shots, ask away if you guys want to.
Great job on rpg
Ah, maybe I didn't say it right, but I do NOT think you're ignorant, lets just be clear on that matter. ;D All I'm saying is that things ran deeper, even if you were here there was countless stuff happening during IRC chats that people don't know about since they weren't there. And through many personal chats I was able to get to know a lot of them as well as a lot of secret stuff that the public doesn't know. I'm not really talking about the achievements, just the purpose they had during their times and what was happening at the time. What I was trying to point out is that things weren't so black and white on either sides. I won't directly talk about Mart, I know how aggravated you get when people bring him up so I'll say this about his list, one of the reasons why I believe it's not successful anymore is exactly as you pointed out, it's outdated now. Who is contributing to it? Bringing it back isn't enough, and then there's the fact that there isn't a "leader" of that thread to turn to so people can ask questions if help needed since lots of people are too shy at times to ask. About new mods, just WHO would be in consideration enough to even possibly take a place of a mod that was needed? Who would get respect from peers, be dedicated enough to the forum, as well as be trusted enough to take care of section in question? Again I say, post intelligent and helpful post and people always get considered or nominated. It's just harder now after everything that's happened but honestly what commotion has happened that people MUST have new mods? I think the community itself needs to try and bring themselves together, which I again say is what was/is more important. Even now I am talking about other sections because that is where I generally go to and post and keep up with but look, even then no one wants to keep them alive! =( I can't double or triple post for obvious reasons so what should I do?! I've participated in many discussions outside of CC but it's just the community itself that is reluctant to post unless it's something really big or "drama" happens. What can mods really do about that? If you want to blame mods for not keeping the longevity then I think that may be a wrong way to look at it because overall they're appointed there to moderate first and foremost. I haven't been really mean to any new members, and majority of the time when people annoy me I pretty much just ignore it unless they are doing something against the rules. The problem I have with new members though is that they can't take any harsh words though, they need to grow a backbone instead of becoming whinny kids who complain the first second they hear someone bust them out for doing something they shouldn't have been doing. You say that ST needs change, but it HAS changed and look what happened to it. Imo it's the community that needs to change, things need to start from there until we can expect results out of anything. Here's one example that it does work, the Haruhi section, people banned together and asked and once there was enough demand for it look at that. It needs a strong community before anything or else what would be the point? Think of mods actions what you want but again I say that I think the importance here is the community. Build a community, then ask for a leader in my opinion. Again, I'm not trying to bash or say you're ignorant, it's my opinion. =o
