I just read from Sankaku. It looks like the writer JUST STARTED writing the next volume. =_=
Hopefully this news is false as I don't want him to be forced to write a new Novel. It might end up becoming like book 5 of Harry Potter where you can actually feel the writer's annoyance throughout the whole book.

While I understand your feelings Vinc, I am actually positively tuned - the fact he started mean he didn't rush it just to please the readers but actually put some thought to it. Of course it also means that he kind of lost his tempo, but everyone has a writer block from time to time.
Actually, nice thing you come up with Harry Potter - what was worst in last volume of the book was the fact that Rowling already had in mind the ending for the series since volume 1 of her books, she just made the last book fit to the ending - the consequence of that was a rather rushed book with all ends tied in very messy fashion. Hopefully the author of HS isn't like that - well, obviously he has some ending in his mind, but he won't just fit the story to it.

^Actually I was kinda hoping that the next Volume of Haruhi was already made and it wasn't printed because of marketing issues and not writer's block. If it's writer's block then he might have started writing because he's editor got tired of waiting or because the second season finally came out. This is what I'm worried about. >_<
As for Harry potter. It did feel like it could go for another book but Rowling did mention that she planned it to run for 7 volumes only. True, you can feel that she had the ending thought out already but she also had so many other ideas that she wanted to write. I bet she ended up killing more characters than she planned to make it easier for her to end the story. Less characters less stuff to write about.
I think the Haruhi ending is still undecided. He did mention before that he had a plot but he's still making the rest up as he goes. So the ending might come out differently than the first one he thought of.

He started writing writing volume 10, then why was there a release date for it 2-3 years ago???
unless he's rewriting it from scratch... well I reckon at the very least he has volume 10 sorted out because it looked like volume 9 & 10 were suppose to be one book but the publishers split it in two because it was too long.
I don't wanna rush him but I want to read volume 10 asap and maybe another short stories volume
that may or may not have any relevance to any future arcs/volume in the future like Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody.
He can spend all the time he wants on the rest of the series as long as he finishes before he dies or I before I die lmao.

well, even if they release volume 10 tomorrow, it will still take a lot of time before it is translated into english, especially now that baka-tsuki abandons haruhi.
