Btw, Does anybody actually like Mikuru? I don't particularly dislike her, but she feels the most generic of all the characters. I always think of her as "that other girl".

I like Asahina (Big) [aka The Adult one].. Asahina (lil) [aka Teen Asahina] seems I dunno... helpless... I can't find the right word for her. I feel she plays a bigger role but always holding back... but that's what Asahian big is for I guess.
She'd a little bit more likeable after Volume 7 though but you probably still won't like her as much as yout current favourite characters.
Indeed. I don't think there is something that interesting about their ogranization, its not Claymore after all.... But I'd be glad to be wrong here and find this out later in anime or novel ;P
Thanks for advice, it seems like somethign I'd like to watch. If you like space-operas with huge amounts of political intrigues, then watch it. It's not naive in the least and it's quite thought provocing I'd dare to say. Not in a 1984 kind of way, of course.
Mikuru.... she is nice and all, but not particulary peculiar. Yeah, that other girl. Yet, its deffinitely pleasing to have her in the frame from time to time.
Claymore? Nah... That's not that interesting, it feels more like a plot device or a way to try to get the manga to an end sometime in the future. The reason why I think so is because it was revealed way too late. Stuff like that coming out suddenly like that makes me doubt how thought through the manga is. It gives me a Dragonball feel, simply speaking. End of off-topic.
Mikuru, when I think about it, is important as a tool. Take the blackmail for the computer as an example. Without Mikuru we would never have gotten such an amazing scene. Well... Amazing might be overstating it. She is needed, but her character is simply a bit boring. It might be a bit like the Koizumi-Kyon thing, but with Haruhi-Mikuru?
Yeah, Mikuru is useful for some jokes, but thats about it. Her time traveling issue might as well be used somehow, but well.... characetr wise she is pretty banal.
Oh, and as rival for Haruhi. Thats important too. Dunno how it is in novels, but judging from anime it seems a somethign with huge potential. Even if Mikuru herself wants to avoid it....
Well it is true that Kyon is attracted to Mikuru, it's almost too obvious, but as a rival to Haruhi? That makes me wonder... The fourteenth episode kind of dispelled any such doubts I had, but now that you mention it, it might be interesting. OR Haruhi might just almost destroy the world again. You never know what happens in when a unconsciously omni-potent being is in love with you.
I see the following pattern - Haruhi will be the one to see Mikuru as rival, and since she IS a god - that might creat a real thing ;P
AHHHHHHH SO HARD TO KEEP SPOILERS TO MYSELF!!!....
Alright lews_therin_tel, you'll REALLY want to read I think it's Volume 5 "Snow Mountain Syndrome" and that's all I'll say (Hope that doesn't spoil or hype it too much for you)
As for you Rei... Nah I won't say it... even 1 word would spoil too much but if you really want to know I'll give you one word :P
Explosions ensue. Hmm... What would happen... Bigger breast, bigger eyes and a shorter skirt. What banality. This is not hoped for! Hm... But what if she gets a pony-tail? That is Kyon's weak point, is it not?
Hm... But if Kyon gets depressed, then breasts are very comfortable.
