Thread: Best quality group?

Just wondering which group do people recommend? AQS seem to have the best translation (prefer them to Del Rey). But post volume 12 the scans are pretty rough. Have they released v2's or is there a comparable group?

That's pretty much the only group.
Negima scanlation is pretty low.

Manga-Heaven did re-HQ Meow's scans, but I guess they didn't think AQS was bad enough to be re-HQ'ed

@Uthred - AQS as you say have done the best job on the series, but they are waaaay behind now and I'm not sure they'll continue - over the last year they only managed to put out a handful of chapters. it's a real shame. However, of the more recent chapters, I would go with Eclipse (they, like the other groups, use the translations of Cnet128 - who does a pretty good job by all accounts). They edit and tidy up grammar glitches better than the other groups.
Most recently though (ch 266 onwards), Enigma seem to have dropped out and the last two chapters have been done by Rehwyn (still using Cnet translations). These last 2 chapters have been edited up to the standards of the old AQS releases (i.e. excellent) - I hope the new group/person continues.
Oh yes, avoid Ala Altra scans - they are pretty rough.

As an addendum to my earlier post - it seems Rehwyn has now joined the ranks of Binktopia. Unfortunately, he has also adopted their methods of cleaning. This means blurred lines and loss of detail, so unfortunately I have to retract what I said about quality.

anyway though... heard a lot of people love the scans of AQS BETTER than the Del Rey translation... pre- some sisters translating Ouran..

right now though... it's an equal quality... though AQS has a ton of years of exp translating and stuff..
