Really? And what if he is lying just to make Negi emotionally unstable to manipulate him this way?

it's possible that Godel is lying but at the moment I don't see what would be the point of that as I imagine that for Godel their should be plenty of ways to make Negi unstable without getting uppercutted on the chin..

conversely, Negi's outburst could be a well executed act to trick Godel since Negi was mentioning to Nodoka some sort of plan they discussed earlier.. a very remote possibility I know, but I wouldn't put it past Negi..

Well, I'm thinking his plan was to have Nodoka read Godel's mind to ascertain whether what he was saying was true.....It would suck if it wasn't true. Having a whole nation against you seems like an epic adventure. Negi might find himself with the rest of the world against him as well.....like his father's story.

Oddly, if Godel's goal were to provoke Negi into a position where he could be arrested, I see Fate just coming in and saving him for nothing but shits and giggles. And, last page remind anyone else of Nagi decking the Mage of the Beginning?

Don't get how he managed to get close enough for the uppercut, Negi. It's been established that Godel is pretty damn strong on his own and it didn't look like he even used Magia Erebea. Leaning more toward the arrest, this is.

I think he is telling the truth, and that they [the senate] need Nagi's son to get strong and to work for them, so by petrifying his village they provide the reason and get a bargaining chip to hold over him at the same time.

That being said he certainly deserves that uppercut.
