Well, I'll tell him to just read the manga. You can start the Ala Alba OVA series when you're done with the school festival.
imo the OVA is more of a fan treat and teaser than its own thing, so it HAS to come after finishing that arc in the manga. Also, Eva's laugh is awesome.
