I agree with Quincy, thought this was kinda unexpected.

I expect Fate to escape or disable/weaken Rakan at most. Beating Rakan would simply destroy the invincible image that mangakas enjoy preserving.

Holy Shit! Rankan Vs Fate, that was totally unexpected..... though i dunno why I get the feeling rankan is not gonna win ....

I find it amazing that one word describes how amazing what's about to come is going to be. What are the chances that he'll actually show the fight though instead of just having them come crashing into the dance hall later on with Rakan all bloodied up and getting beat?

my thoughts exactly. though i doubt he'll die. maybe we'll see glimpses of the fight.

this is starting to get exciting. i thought that there would be more to this chapter but now i just cant wait. i hope like jack and fate are battling to a draw and then fate leaves cuz if jack loses his "invincible man" status goes away and negi could fight him to a draw.

I thoroughly expect Fate to win the ensuing battle with Rakan, despite Rakan supposedly being invincible and all that, if Negi managed to setup Rakan for a an inescapable trap in the tournament, Fate can probably one up what Negi did (especially that he saw the whole thing).
and yeah, I know Fate said that he wasn't expecting Rakan to show his face, but I'm willing to bet that he accounted for that in his plans anyway..

let's face it.. Rakan's part in the story is practically finished, thought I don't think he'll die he'll probably get temporarily incapacitated..
