chao wasnt weak it was that her magic was like imprinted on her so it hurt her when she used it....i really wish they didnt skip a week next week because i want something big to happen soon....im starting to wonder if akira is really negis mom or not because it doesnt make sense if she was "killed" 18 years ago and hes only 10....more and more questions especially with this mars thing

I haven't checked in the raw threads for a while... did people figure out the Mars thing before or after it was brought up in the manga?

Question is... how is Akamatsu going to tie things like Mars satellite/probe photographs into all this or will he ignore it altogether? Or maybe say that a basic protectino in Mundus Magicus is a barrier that makes Mars look plain to people who didn't teleport there.

And... Chao wasn't weak. At the time, her magic power was higher than Negi's.

I will agree with whomever said that Chao probably comes from real mars not mundus magicus mars, however I cant help but feel that she was weak, I mean Negi has leveled up like crazy since he fought Chao, and indeed now that I think of it (looking it as a whole) Chao seemed to be using some sort of twisted Magia erebea like knicksak2 points out

As for who is Negi's mother I think Akumatsu is doing a bad job with it, I mean Rakan was the one that should have given Negi that information, not the governor, although I love how Negima is just becoming one big RPG

edit: Chao was in no way, shape, or form using Magia Erebea or anything like it. Magia erebea lets you fusion ha! with your movies... chao's shit let her use magic. And of course Negi had an insane level up. a) this is a shouen series and he was training with Jack/senator guy/principal woman/princess girl/vampire over 9000. b) chao was still stronger than negi when they fought.

I miss Chao too... in terms of general villains, she was pretty awesome... in a Rail Tracer kind of way.

And... if they're traveling to the future with every gateport wouldn't that take an absurd amount of magical power? For the seven day jump post-lulztrap by Chao, Negi and pals had to run the fuck back to the World Tree's core just to have enough power, so something like jumping (what I assume is) years into the future must be like O.o in terms of energy use, and yet they're doing it so often?

^well that's the different when you use the gates port with all that magic pillars around it (just like the one fate's team destroy), with the one that handsize... i mean the gates port it self is even bigger than that tree... well maybe the same size.

and it's not like you move through time at the same space (the chao arc) and cxhange the history of that space. it's move through time and space so history never change.... i'm confuse by my own theory here.. anyone got a better idea??

i still agree with the person who said its some sort of magic so that you cant see it like a false image....or maybe hes just ignoring that aspect...the time traveling thing sounds decent but i dont think its true because chao said she would have to wait 22years to go back to her own time if she missed that night so it wouldnt make sense if she could just go through the gate

Hmm well if time travel is involve. The Magic world could be Mars from the past. Before Fate and the others destroyed it and turn into one giant desert.

Meh I'm just guessing as well.

I'm curious on what happened during the whole time when Nagi went up against the last boss up to the part where Asuna & Takamichi have to go on separate ways with everyone from the Ala rubra. It feels like theres so much stuff that happened that should be mentioned. Hopefully this won't be cut short like he did with Seta & Haruka's story in Love hina.

anyway.. I've been thinking about this when I woke up.. dunno why but here goes...

isn't the rotation per day in Earth and in Mars different? I mean, Mars is far away from here and all...

but having the same timeline though as Earth... maybe it just has the map of Mars, but it's still on Earth if we count the timeline here and all...

I'm going to assume it is the current-day Mars and the magic world is just magically hidden somehow, or that's the work of the mage teams left on earth. It seems the easiest explanation, at least until the mangaka decides to show us otherwise.

I'm more curious about what Negi has just remembered that has him sweating bullets. Maybe some cosmic forecast he read in the newspaper back on earth, announcing a huge Meteor shower on Mars for the next day? Or just some Sun - Earth - Mars planets alignment...

That was presented so far out-of-character that I assumed he was replaced by the same girl that has Asuna earlier. Background and small paneled Negi-shock isn't usually the style in this comic. Well, I don't think it has ever been done for something serious since the very first chapter.

hopefully, KA will convince us in the graveness of the situation and Negi's (rather overblown) reaction, cuz so far I'm not convinced..
