It looks like Negi found his own path now. Everyone kept saying that he shouldn't over think everything and be a bit of an idiot but he proves them wrong. Negi is now planning his every move and reads his opponents moves, making him one step ahead of them. Not depending on instinct or brute strength but with strategy and wits. I like where this is headed
oh yeah. Akamatsu proved me wrong. He didn't have 3 trump cards... he got more! >_<

well he might end up placing a seal on this move after the arc if he gets too strong for the next arc. That or fate places a "drop-to-level-one" curse on Negi. I doubt it though.
Anyway Negi has to become stronger than Rakan as his next opponent would be someone/something that was a lot stronger than Nagi and Rakan back then. Remember the flash backs. Fate works for someone whos a lot stronger than he is. This is if Negi could even defeat Fate.
as a side note. I wonder how Negi would match up with Eva now. ^^

i really hope that akumatsu doesn't overstep the boundaries of the strongest. nagi was suppose to be the most powerful and i was hoping that he would cap it there but it seems that he might go past that. though this chapter was more of planning and and redirecting strength. oh yeah, i'm glad negi has more than one trump card.

DAMN if it was worth THE WAIT for this chapter....sure is good to see that sometimes a great plan can make the diference on a battle instead of pure strength or mere luck
And yet still i wonder how the hell is Akamatsu gonna make fate to blow up two opponents like rakan and negi at the same time?
