^ yeah.....seems that Rakan planned the thing didn't he? Though I think we can take his estimation of his non-serious self at face value, since he doesn't expect negi to best him anyway. Though now I wonder how strong Kotaro is........I thought he and Negi were the same level when we started this arc.

welp... remember, he did train at the magic place for 30 days...

while Negi was training for 72 days with his body, Kotaro was getting trained by Ricardo....

so... they're prolly equals... or greater now...

ok, now I'm reeeaaally starting to hate that asshole Rakan.. yeah I know it's thanks to him that Negi got stronger, but it looks like he only did that for his own sake..

-he sees Negi in the tournament and decides that this could amuse him/get him fired up..
-then he sets up Kagetarou's attack on Negi so that Negi will get hustled into becoming his apprentice..
-he teaches Negi Magia Erebea supposedly so that Negi can fight Fate, but in reality it's just so he could squeeze more fun from his planned fight with Negi..


if anyone read a story called "The Most dangerous Game" it's about a big game hunter that's gotten so good at hunting to the degree no beast was a challenge any more, so he lived in an uninhabited island and when ever survivors from shipwrecks drifted to the island he would train them in the ways of hunting as much as he can so that he can hunt them when he thinks they'll pose a challenge..

anyway, even if Negi doesn't win.. I hope that at least he makes Rakan cough up 3 buckets worth of blood and lose a set of teeth

very well, consider him the most idiot person on magic world who has a fetish on fighting. after what negi has give him, he probably forget what he tell kagetaro a dozens chapter ago "he is only ten". and if you wonder how could he forget, well like i said he is an idiot.

but his motives are all that matters in the end, and when you consider that this was his goal from the beginning when he had Kagetarou attack Negi, all in order for him to say: "sorry kid you never really had a chance but I needed some amusement.. now give up so that you won't die and I'll have some more fun with you later"

makes him not an idiot but an asshole imo..

yup. an asshole too... but do consider without him negi would never gonna learn dark magic and get to the same level as fate and learn a little about his dad history.
