    You can say that, too.
I was wondering if his artifact will point to the light path and abandon Magia Erebia.
But I guess there's so much contradiction within himself that it's perfectly accepted now.

at this point it seems that combining those two paths is fully within Negi's ability..

http://www.onemanga.com/Mahou_Sensei_Negima!/241/17/ Rakan never fails to amuse very funny how the blades were sweating when Rakan caught two of them in his teeth

my guess would be yes.. if I remember correctly, eastern jutsu users use ki rather than magic but in the Kyoto arc Asuna was nullifying their conjured demons with one smack from her heraisen.. http://www.onemanga.com/Mahou_Sensei_Negima!/40/05/

I don't think it nullifies machine type energy though..

This chapter is soooo shounen. Even Mahora tournament arc chapters didn't feel that way (probably because readers' attention wasn't fixed solely on Negi fighting). Well, anyways, I hope the next chapter to suprise us. BTW, I finally realised which character Rakan reminds of. It 's Kamen-Maid Guy (Masked Maid Guy).

my view of artifact relation to the owner
    asuna's sword: her true ability
    nodoka's book: her reading hobby
konoka's fan: her joke (japanese joker)
setsuna's dagger: the life of the samurai
    haruna's magic picture book: mangaka
    yue's book: her learning hobby
asakura's spy sat: gossip (i mean news) girl
    cisame's magic mouse: bloggers
    kaede's cloack: nin...nin..

negi's card: his lust to kiss every girl that are around him

No, it's the artifact's ability to nullify summoned objects.
People tend to overlook these things, since Asuna's Magic Cancel overshadowed everything else.

yeah your right.. so Asuna's artifact de-spells any conjured demons/objects whether they were conjured by ki or magic.. but still doesn't work on robots

while Asuna's ability (magic cancel) works only on magic right? she can't nullify ki based attacks..

I don't think its too much of a contradiction.

Negi tends to try to become independent (wanting to grow up quickly; to become like his father ASAP) and not to get others hurt (fear of others getting hurt; trauma from his childhood) but in the end. He always needs help and ends up depending on other people. Look at how many pactios his made because of all the help that he needed. His artifact just shows how much he needs other people.

I'm not sure how this Artifact is made or whether its possible for it to change or is it even possible to get another artifact if you make another pactio but if it is possible to change/get a new one. Negi might have a different artifact in the future because of all his choices/decisions. a clear example is when he chose not to use his artifact against Rakan and go for a fist fight.

^ I don't think his artifact will change. Look at Albireo. He has like ten or twenty dead cards and I bet that they all were the same artifact. I think the part of the reason that Negi got that artifact was because he's an antiques collector(not the enemy of all women as Anya stated before...lol.).

"You have other hearts trapped within you as well, dont you?"
"You're that guy from last time! What are you talking about?!"
    "The other Hearts within you."
    "Hearts trapped within me....?"

^Hey, antiques aren't limited to ancient pottery. Just look at One Piece All the girls in his class are his "antiques"

    Good Times
